Just out of curiosity, does anybody remember hearing about my Great-Uncle, George Osborne?

From early on in the Stanley Brothers' career, until Carter died in 1966, my great-uncle was a permenant guest on their shows.  He would open the programs singing Tex Ritter songs, and his standard that he is remembered for was "Rye Whiskey".

Carter catered to him a lot, because neither Carter or Ralph could play that kind of music well.  They played in the background with him, but that was it.

At one point, on WCYB's Farm and Fun Time Radio Broadcast, Tex Ritter made a guest appearence, and, without announcing who he was, he sang one of his songs, then my great-uncle sang one of Tex Ritter's songs.  Afterward, nobody could tell which was which.
