Hi Carolyn, this is really good information to know. I bought the banjo off Steve while he was out here in Phoenix and plan to keep it for many years. I wasn't able to talk with Steve about it too much, as he was traveling, so it's great to hear about his involvement with the design. I'm looking forward to getting it later this week from UPS. I asked Steve, Ralph and the boys to sign it before he sent it.
If anyone is wondering, we have a fairly large bluegrass community here in Phoenix, with weekly jams held at Howard Anderson's house. Howard and his wife Susan have been hosting an open jam at their house weekly for almost 30 years - they are somewhat of a local legend. On any given night, there are at least 20 - 40 bluegrass musicians that come and go to the jam. Several of our local bands have sprung from the jam at the Anderson's house.
