I saw Todd also on a PBS Special several weeks back.
The boy can Play !!!  Hopefully, we'll see him at the
Appalachian Festival next month.  We also saw a young
15 yr old boy down the street from the museum (Ciderville Music Store's back room barber chairs) that could pick the 5 string better than some of the old timers there.  It's exciting to see young talents take up BG.

I'd like to add something to this that I should have
regarding that young 15 yr. old boy we saw at the
music store in Powell, TN that I should have added ....
it's what caught my attention immediately.

What was amazing is he wasn't attempting to show up
the old timers .... he was learning at their knees.
Looking up to them and allowing them to Teach him
the Heritage.  I watched him and he was about as kindred
as you could be, no ego - just humble eagerness to
learn from the best.    ... Old timers.     I have seen some
of the best musicians hidden away where the roads
hardly go.   This young man 'knew' where to find the
Right Teachers, that was obvious.     ....   smart boy.
He told me his age and that his goal was to learn
"every instrument in here".   He had a hunger and that
was refreshing.   I don't know about everyone else in
here (I'm new) but I, personally, would rather "listen" to
a musician display his heart than "watch" an entertainer
dance all over the stage ... not concentrating on the
hearts of the fellow players.   It needs to entertwine.
And that's where you get the sweet music.
(just my 2 cents where it wadn't asker fer)  (grins)
