BG: questionable word

Hello,  Could someone please answer a question for me?  Dr. Stanley sings a song "One Drop Of Water".  The first line is :" The rich man lived in luxury.  surrounded by his ________?"  I think the next word is  "hoard".  A friend thinks it sounds like he is saying "door"  Please settle the debate.  Thanks so much.  Mary
