I saw Ralph and the Boys in Ashland Ohio on Nov 13.
It was a great show and Ralph was stronger than ever. I've been going to this concert annually for four years. Ralph's voice was in good shape, his memory was flawless (no notes) and he was in charge all the way. They did 2 sets, 27 songs. Ralph sang acapella on O death and Lift Him up that's All. James Allen wasn't there due to family illness. (Best wishes, James - we missed you). His substititute was a young man from Kentucky, Bugs Chafin. He's a real strong player and sings some too. John Rigsby has moved from mandolin to violin. What a musician! He played the Orange Bloosom Special and his violinplaying is just great. Nathan Stanley (age 12) played mandolin and is off to a fine start. More people should get up to this Ashland concert that takes place every November. It's a nice small middle school auditorium, sight and sound is perfect. The place was about half full!
