After completing the development of this musical play over the last two years, The Barter Theatre in Abingdon, VA, premieres the fully realized production of Man of Constant Sorrow: The Story of the Stanley Brothers. From the author of BarterÂ’s hit musical play Keep on the Sunny Side: The Songs and Story of the Original Carter Family comes the story of Bluegrass Legend Ralph Stanley, who became a household name in 2002 when he won a Grammy for the Best Male Country Vocal Performance.
