Be clear about what you have and how you may (or may not) be able to 
promote it. IIRC you have a novel search algorithm that would do 
interesting things on spectra.

The problem is that apart from NMRShiftDB there are no open 
collections of spectra. The chemists care more about the content than 
the speed of the algorithm. So it won't be easy to enroll people. To 
do this you have to create something that they do not have already 
(not an incremental upgrade), show them they need it and make it 
better than anything else around. Do not expect them to do any work 
in installation or to be grateful.

That's the challenge we face all the time.
