There is one statement in that document:
"Liason between PyMOL & Jmol projects to develop a shared molecular 
visualization data model compatible with both applications (meaning, being able 
to import/export sessions from one to the other)." Nothing said about XML/CML

Is there any Jmol or PyMol developer on this list?

This is what I've actually meant: to develop some XML metadata to include in 
CML files for interchange between different (open source) applications
