I’ve known of Islandora for a long time and played with it a little. The best
thing about it is that It uses Fedora Commons which is hands down the best
digital repository software there is.
For more info about Fedora go to http://fedora-commons.org/. If there is
anyone local and has the time to attend I would encourage it as there may be
more for chemistry in the most recent version (I looked at it 10 years ago…)

The Islandora Foundation invites you to join us in the Netherlands for our next
Islandora Camp, taking place June 13 - 15 at Delft University of Technology (TU
Delft).

Islandora Camp is a three-day event consisting of two days of conference-style
sessions and one day of hands-on training led by expert instructors from the
Islandora community. Those instructors will be: Diego Pino, Rosie Le Faive,

Islandora is an open-source software framework designed to help institutions,
organizations, and their audiences collaboratively manage, and discover digital
assets using a best-practices framework. Built on a base of Drupal, Fedora, and

types (such as image, video, and pdf) and knowledge domains (such as Chemistry
and the Digital Humanities).
