Forgive me, this is not a technical posting. I pass this information along because I have always considered this list as more than just a technical list-serv. We are a community.
This is late in coming, but I only learned today. Darrell Mobley, a frequent contributor to the BlueOnyx (and BlueQuartz before it) list, has passed away. Darrell's last post to this list was on August 4 and his death was just 5 days after on August 9, 2011. He was 54 years old. Darrell has been a customer of ours since 2006 and was an ardent fan of the BlueOnyx platform and a vivid personality on this list. As with many of you that I know as fellow BX users and/or customers, I have long considered Darrell a friend. I called Darrell to check in on him today after we had not heard from him regarding some alarms that his server was generating. When his Apache failed to respond for 4 hours, we were escalated to investigate and restore as per our standing SLA with him. That was the first time that we had stepped in without being asked, and that struck me as odd. Darrell's mother answered the phone and told me the news.
