Just to follow up... That's pretty much exactly what I was seeing - the shorthand rather then the text strings. And I knew all that in a general way... :-)

After I restarted the server, all I did was refresh the browser page and the problem was corrected - so I don't think it was the browser doing something screwy (I'd tried refreshing before the restart and it didn't change things.) What I find puzzling is that I've used the GUI in some form or another through an original Cobalt Qube, BlueQuartz, BO 5106R (for at least 5 years) and now 5107R... and this is the first time I've ever seen this - at the same time as several other people. Makes me think something spooky happened. :-)
