Hi Frank, > OK. Just a last thing, with no relation to that, but I don't think that > it's maybe not necessary to begin a new post for that : > do you know if someone works or has at least begun a french translation > of the interface ?
No, sorry. I know there is demand for a French (and a Spanish) GUI translation, but so far nobody volunteered to do it. Nor is anyone on the team that could do it. > And is this link : http://www.bluequartz.org/docs/translate/index.html > valid for BlueOnyx ? Partially. I'd suggest a slightly different approach: First of all, get the most up to date BlueOnyx sources out of SVN: yum install sausalito-devel-tools mkdir /home/devel cd /home/devel svn checkout https://devel.blueonyx.it/repos/trunk/ trunk For read only access use the following login details: Username: blueonyx Password: blueonyx That will then download a copy of the BlueOnyx source code to /home/devel on your box. Inside every module directory is a "locale" subdirectory that contains subdirectories for all the languages. For a French translation you would copy en_US to a newly created fr_FR subdirectory there. Then you would edit the *.po files to change the English text to French. And you'd need to do that for every module. The *.po files are textfiles and can be edited with any text editor. On Linux "pico" or "vi" will do. Or "Kwrite" if you have KDE installed. To edit them on Windows I highly suggest "poedit", which is available free of charge. -- With best regards Michael Stauber _______________________________________________ Blueonyx mailing list [email protected] http://mail.blueonyx.it/mailman/listinfo/blueonyx
