Just when I thought that I had seen all the ways to break a BlueOnyx box, I get a surprise!
A customer brought us a BlueOnyx system for colocation. It's up on the network, running fine. However, the customer found that any site that he tried to pull up would redirect to the BlueOnyx login page on :444. This behavior is typical when no sites are configured. However, the server has several sites on it. After a bit of digging, we found that some of the sites are configured in an unusual way. Instead of the typical "www" in hostname and "domain.tld" in the domain field, the user has placed the domain in the hostname and the tld in the domain. In other words, if the site is www.mybrokenwebsite.com, he has it configured with "mybrokenwebsite" in hostname and "com" in domain. Attempting to fix this through the GUI fails. Therefore, we decided to try a cmuExport, then rename the site in the XML file, delete the site from the GUI, then import with the proper nomenclature. This also resulted in failure. The GUI reports back "Site removal failed". Here is what gets logged in /var/log/messages: Aug 16 13:11:56 blue cced(smd)[11572]: client 0:[48:3763]: AUTHKEY to user "" failed Aug 16 13:11:56 blue cced(smd)[11575]: client [0:11574] has admin rights Aug 16 13:11:56 blue cced(smd)[11577]: client [0:11574] has admin rights Aug 16 13:11:56 blue cced(smd)[11577]: client 5:[0:11574]: SET 340 noFileCheck = 1 Aug 16 13:11:56 blue cced(smd)[11577]: client 5:[0:11574]: SET succeeded Aug 16 13:11:56 blue cced(smd)[11577]: client 5:[0:11574]: DESTROY 340 Aug 16 13:11:57 blue cced(smd)[11577]: handler handlers/Compass/roundcube/user_destroy.pl failed Aug 16 13:11:57 blue cced(smd)[11577]: client 5:[0:11574]: DESTROY failed Any ideas on how we can go about repairing this for the customer? As it stands, none of his sites are working. -- Chris Gebhardt VIRTBIZ Internet Services Access, Web Hosting, Colocation, Dedicated www.virtbiz.com | toll-free (866) 4 VIRTBIZ _______________________________________________ Blueonyx mailing list [email protected] http://mail.blueonyx.it/mailman/listinfo/blueonyx
