Hi All.
Found that the DNS is named. Found that trying to start named via command line gave me the zone where the error lies. It was indeed the domain that is associated with the new FQDN. I went back into the GUI and went into network services / DNS / Edit Primary Services. Loaded up the domain and the host name alpha was shown, but named reported there were no A or AAA entries for the host. I deleted the entry and created a new forward record for the host, alpha to the same IP. Created record, saved settings. Did a service named start and it worked. Strange the record must have gotten broken when I changed the FQDN. Phil.
