Hello,
you can do am yum install open-vm-tools It do the same and is included in the automated updates. Yes vmware tools are very useful to have more control from esxi/vcenter like shutdown (not only power down)/reboot and so on. I've loaded it with VMware ESXi and have my BlueOnyx server up and running on that. But I'm having some problems getting the VMware Tools to load onto BX. So before I put in a lot of time & effort - I'm wondering if its worth it? Has anyone successfully loaded the VMware Tools onto BlueOnyx? And was there any significant benefits from the tools? I've got to wrap up the final networking configurations, BlueOnyx set up, and buy some software for the server - so I can start migrating websites off my old box to this one. So lots of work still to do - and I don't know if spending time on the VMware Tools is worth the effort. Thanks guys. Chuck
