Guess what?Attached the missing USB disk /dev/sde.... and it restarts.Strange though the system panics because of a missing non essential device. Lesson learned.
Do you auto-mount the USB disk in /etc/fstab? If so, then yeah: The box won't reboot properly with the disk removed.
