Hi all,

The AV-SPAM has just been released for BlueOnyx 5211R and is now available in the BlueOnyx shop.

This was somewhat of a major undertaking, as I had to modernize a lot of the underlying components and also modified several BlueOnyx standard modules for a more seamless integration of the AV-SPAM into the mix.

The net result is an overall improvement in reliability and dependability of the related AV-SPAM services.

Notable changes:
=================

AV-SPAM services:
------------------

As before the AV-SPAM adds several new daemons such as:

- spamassassin
- spamass-milter
- milter-greylist
- milter-geoip
- clamav
- clamav-milter

Depending on how you configure the AV-SPAM in the GUI, these services will be enabled and started accordingly. Modifications to email related services will trigger restarts of these services as needed - now with fewer conflicting systemctl requests.

The overall state of AV-SPAM related services can be checked this way:

/usr/sausalito/sbin/avspam_init.pl -status

And the services can be stopped/started/restarted manually (and in the right order) this way:

/usr/sausalito/sbin/avspam_init.pl -stop
/usr/sausalito/sbin/avspam_init.pl -start
/usr/sausalito/sbin/avspam_init.pl -restart

Clam AV:
---------

On BlueOnyx 5211R the AV-SPAM uses an integrated Clam AV (v1.0.1 at this time) which is served out of the AV-SPAM YUM repository. So there is no longer the need to install a separate Clam AV PKG. In fact Clam AV will now be updated via YUM whenever a new version comes out.

All relevant changes of the new AV-SPAM v7.2.2-1 will be backported to BlueOnyx 5210R as well, although this will take a few days.
