I've encountered a problem with the blueprint "simple sample" file
that makes me worry about the fundamental idea of the configurable
grid. Using "lib/compress.rb" with the following settings, the layout
of the sample page breaks on both Firefox 3.06 and Safari 3.2.1. The
only change from the defaults is the column_width, which is increased
by just one pixel.
test:
custom_layout:
column_count: 24
column_width: 31
gutter_width: 10
The grid, typography and forms samples are all ok, but the sample page
with reaI-world content is not. have tried several other column_width
values, but I have found none larger than 30px which works. If I have
understoof the concept of blueprint correctly, then it should be no
problem to adjust this setting to any arbitrary value, regenerate the
stylesheets with lib/compress.rb, and be off to the races.
I'd really like to understand what's going wrong. Seeing the layout of
the sample file break so easily makes me worried. It would be great to
hear a tip from someone that says, "oh, you forgot to do this.."
Thanks,
Rick Ross
