Gagan Deep Juneja commented on BLUR-110:

I agree that we can initially start with basic validations. What could be the
the best place to put these validations? I guess in MR api we can put this in
BlurMutate.java and some where for table.

I would like to know one thing that is it possible to add custom validations in
thrift service itself? I am trying to google it as well.

> Check all names of table, column names, etc. in the thrift service as well as
> the map reduce api

> I think that we should allow [A-Za-z0-9_-] in the names of things in Blur.
> Any other letters at this point? I would be ok with UTF-8 letters just not
> special characters, but it's kind of hard to know what is not a special in
> other character sets. So I was thinking we can start with the simplest check.
