Hi Aaron,
I was under the same opinion as well on PSDP. I am not familiar with the
internals of lucene but I would assume that the lucene community would want us
to treat the lucene directory as a black box and not tinker with it.
In any case I put forward some code to persist snapshots in a sub-dir under the
shard. Instead of pasting the code here, I attached a patch. Kindly have a look
at it and let me know what you think.
