Organisational Environment:

Biomedical Technology Services (BTS) is a multi-disciplinary group providing 
comprehensive health technology services to a variety of health technology 
including but not limited to dental, dialysis, electro-medical, instruments, 
manufacturing, medical physics, pathology/scientific and x-ray.  BTS provides 
services to metropolitan and non-metropolitan hospitals in:

• maintenance of health technology and associated information systems;
• health technology management services;
• health technology asset management;
• radiological quality assurance and compliance testing;
• research and development;
• design and manufacture of specialised health technology equipment;
• health technology safety standards policy formation and implementation; and
• health technology hazards advisory services

Proven success in leading and managing high performing specialist teams that 
deliver Biomedical Technology/Physics services in a large, diverse and complex 
organisation.

Demonstrated ability to successfully manage the development and implementation 
of statewide frameworks, policies, procedures and guidelines across a large, 
diverse and complex organisation in the areas of Biomedical Technology 
services, Medical Physics and asset management.

Demonstrated strategic conceptual, organisational and analytical skills and the 
ability to solve complex organisational problems affecting the achievement of 
corporate outcomes.

Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills including consultation, 
facilitation, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.

A demonstrated commitment to the principles of quality management and 
continuous quality improvement, and a contemporary knowledge of NATA/ISO 
accreditation/certification. 

Ensure that supervisory and management practices are line with quality human 
resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, 
occupational health and safety and ethical behaviour.

Mandatory Criteria: (Must be met to be considered for selection)

Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and/or 
registration with the appropriate registration authority, including any 
necessary endorsements, to be provided to the employing service prior to the 
commencement of service.
