Hi Owen,

That is correct. We recently migrated from HECS to ECRI-AIMS. AIMS is initially more cumbersome, but this improves with familiarity. The reporting and data analysis capabilities are superior with AIMS, but as a downside the user is required to enter more data than with HECS. Consequently, upper management like AIMS, technical staff find it a bit bloated. Im happy to elaborate more but there are certainly people that use it more extensively than myself. There are a few hospitals in WA that now use AIMS so perhaps someone else can comment.

Regards,

Andrew Vincent
Technical Officer
Royal Perth Hospital

Hello again,

Naren Gajjar and Ken Wilson from Queensland Health responded that BTS is currently processing the rollout of ECRI-AIMS version 2.3.0.6.1.

Ken advised that he believed “WA are using ECRI-AIMS as this has replaced HECS. They are using it at Royal Perth and Sir Charles Gardiner and Princess Margaret.”

I look toward to someone from Western Australia telling me more.

Cheers,
Owen.

Subject: [bmelist] Phoenix Data's AIMS

Hello All,

Anyone out there using the Phoenix Data’s AIMS equipment management system.

What’s your experience? If you previously used ECRI HECS4, how does AIMS compare?

Look forward to learning more about this AIMS product.

Cheers,
Owen.
