Hi all, I have been looking at the use of generic or uncommon-brand syringes in syringe pumps in South East Asia, for which there is no equivalent brand selection available on most syringe pumps.
There is a need to train both users and technicians to select the equivalent brand for their syringes, but I have been unable to find a complete, up to date list of common syringe dimensions. For example: everyone "knows" that BD-Precise brand and Terumo brand syringes are equivalent, however I cannot seem to find any published data to confirm whether this is true for all sizes. Can anyone point me to a list of common syringe dimensions, so that I might update my own list? Also, if your hospital uses a syringe brand not listed below, and you have a few minutes, please grab a vernier calliper and measure the distance between the tick marks between 0 ml and 50 ml (or whatever the nominal volume of the syringe is). I am only really interested in sizes from 10 ml to 50 ml. Any input or measurements would be greatly appreciated.
