provides a diverse range of adult clinical services including acute medical and 
surgical services, sub-acute care, medical diagnostics, rehabilitation, allied 
health, mental health, palliative care, correctional health and community 
residential care. St Vincent's has an excellent opportunity for a Biomedical 
Engineer or Grade 1 Technician to join our Medical Engineering team.

You will be responsible for providing technical and clinical support for 
medical equipment.

You have a good theoretical and practical knowledge of engineering, a sound 
understanding of medical sciences with the ability to combine the two.

You will work at all campuses of STV and a valid driver's licence is essential. 
You will assist in the delivery of a comprehensive biomedical engineering 
service by performing clinical troubleshooting, repairs and preventative 
maintenance. You will assist in pre-purchase evaluations of equipment and 
acceptance testing and installation of equipment.

This rare opportunity requires a person with:
* Formal qualifications in Electronics, Electrical or Biomedical Engineering or 
equivalent qualification or experience
* Eligible for membership to Engineers Australia or ACPSEM
* A knowledge of the relevant Australian and International Standards & their 
application to medical equipment
* An ability to communicate with clinical staff
* Self motivation
* Intermediate computer hardware and software skills
* Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task
