Hello fellow bmelist subscribers,

For NSW Health employees, the HEALTH EMPLOYEES' TECHNICAL (STATE) AWARD for
Electronics Technicians has the following definition for "Electronics
Technician".

"Electronics Technician" means a person employed as such who is the possessor
of an Electronics and Communications Certificate of the Department of Technical
and Further Education, or who has qualifications and/or experience deemed by
the employing hospital to be equivalent and the major portion of whose duties
include the construction, adaptation, alteration, repair and/or maintenance of
electronic equipment.

Unfortunately the quoted Electronics and Communications Certificate is an old
qualification provided prior to the establishment of the current Australian
Qualifications Framework (AQF).

If you have information on what "equivalent" qualifications/courses are
currently offered, that are equivalent to the old Electronics and
Communications Certificate, please enlighten me by contacting me by phone or
email.

Thanks,
Owen.
