I just received my third shipment of supplies from them, including Klasse and Klasse one Step. I just tried them and they seem pretty good...but they are NOT WAXES...the are polymer based. That may go against the grain for some people, but in my opinion a first class polymer is great on a first class paint (POLYMER) finish. Note: they have a great buffer pad system for the Porter-Cable polisher...but I got my polisher cheaper elsewhere. He is the US distibutor, and he is in San Fransisco. You'll probably have to leave a message, but he always gets back to you. The 2000 Maxima motor actually has 222hp, and is regarded as one of the better 6's, the 328i motor obviously better of course! :) I searched through Car and Driver and grabbed these performance figures: car 0-60 hp torque e46 328i 6.4 193 e36 328i 6.5 190 206 Maxima 7.0 222 217 A4 2.8 7.4 190 What does this mean? There's more to performance than the peak rating values, as most of us already know. The actual power and torque curves, weight (weight is our enemy, right?), and gearing make a huge difference. How else could 190 hp blow away 222 hp? So, when the 330i comes out, it should blow the Maxima away, even though the hp is similar. I am willing to spend $2000.00 or trade my '86 Rx7 I have had offers of up to $3000 on the Rx7 so it is a pretty nice car with only 109,000 miles on it and would make a great racecar for someone, that is why I bought it, but, I just decided to stick to autocross and not road race. If you attribute overall superiority to an engine solely based on the power figures, then BMW has much to fear from Kenworth, Peterbilt, and Mack. When BMW went from 4.0 litres to 4.4 litres, the power output did not change; the focus was on improving "driveability". In order to establish relative driveability you really have to drive the cars as of course you can't put an objective figure to it. If the Nissan engine produces x bhp only between, say, 6,100 rpm and 6,200 rpm then this higher *peak* power output will be meaningless; furthermore, pure power figures are only half the story. Power-to-weight is what counts (but then you knew that already :)). To actually answer your question, there is supposed to be a new V8 due out, an even more hi-po version based on the current M engine. 6.0 litre capacity and 530 bhp, according to "Car" magazine in England, but only destined for the MZ8 (as if the Z8 wasn't "M" enough already). I doubt BMW will respond. The Infiniti is sold in very few markets and has never been an illustrious competitor, to the best of my knowledge. The Peake Research tool >that's the basis for this thing costs money, no doubt about that. But >then on top of that it appears that buying the Infector/Injector yada^3 >with the CAI costs a premium over buying them separately. What I think is particularly peculiar is that if you buy the Shark's version of CAI (say, instead of the BPG proven ECIS or the Dinan sexy carbon fiber tube), there's no discount if you buy the software at the same time as a package deal. In fact, you pay more cause the CAI-type infection (heheh) costs MORE than the "normal" infection. Now, last time I checked automobile manufacturers offered discounts if you bought stuff in packages, like heated seats with leather seats. I mean, we can't fault the retailers for this; afterall, they don't set their "jobber" price; but I agree, that pricing structure is sure a good way lose customers. I feel compelled to point out that at current Bonneville vs. Dinan prices, the CAI + software combo is more or less the same price from either company. I bet 99% of the people out there wouldn't be able to tell one software from the other in their e36m3. I guess with the Bonneville stuff you are paying for supposed technical superiority. With Dinan stuff you're paying for superior customer service, CARB compliance, a warranty (if anything goes wrong w/ the ECU during flashing, Dinan will replace the ECU), and free software updates if in the future you do an HFM or supercharger or what have you. PS, I have no interest in Bonneville Motor Werks, nor do I have an interest in the financial well being of any of its competition. I'm just calling it how I see it; in true "UUC" style (back before UUC was a company [a darned good one at that].) I can't even use the infector nor any type of CAI on the market. JimC, if you want to keep Bonneville growing, I'd second Jim's suggestion and re-evaluate the pricing strategy you have in place.
