Hi,
Some details that you should fill in the script:
1.) Target Person - would be your name
2.) [EMAIL PROTECTED] - would be the e-mail
address you want the notification to be sent to
3.) [EMAIL PROTECTED] - this should be an e-mail address
which you know will not be filtered by your spam filters.
I made an entry in my white-list specifically to make sure
these notifications to get through.
4.) rename the script to something like image.jpg etc.. and place
in a cgi-bin or a directory where execute is enabled and chmod
as needed. also modify the variable $IMAGE_LOCATION to the
url of the real image you want displayed I advise to make it a 1x1
white pixel jpg, (it will save bandwidth and cause less suspicious ;) )
5.) make sure the computer running the script has perl and sendmail installed
6.) in the person's e-mail place the following tag:
<img src="http://www.some-domain.com/cgi-bin/notification.jpg?rec_name=name+surname">
note: It would be good to have the whole e-mail in the proper html body-tags etc..
ie:
<html>
<body>
<img
src="http://www.some-domain.com/cgi-bin/notification.jpg?rec_name=name+surname">
</body>
</html>
The script will send you an e-mail every time somebody grabs the image.
it will look something like this:
This is an auto-notification from: Abc Def
Abc Def used the following internet address: 123.123.123.123
Abc Def logged in from the following internet host: 123.123.123.123
Time and Date: Sun Jan 18 22:11:51 PST 2004
The accuracy of the IPs will be based on whether or not the
person is behind a proxy cache, if they are then it can be
assumed you will receive the proxy's ip. but usually for people
connecting via dial-up the ip address will be accurate.
The script can be downloaded from:

Arash
