Hello Alex,
I'm not sure I understand your question. We do not bar anyone from
contributing. Could you be more clear please?
This is in relation with the ORB and the issue Kohei asked for feedback
today on the dev list.
Thanks,
Charles.

Hi all,
A recent discussion on the developer list has brought me to ask myself
where, if anywhere, there is a positive statement or decision on
development strategy that implies or explicitly mentions that
"enterprise stability" can/will only be expected in the LibreOffice
product if companies / administrations / large user bases buy support
contracts ?
This has repercussions for me to the extent that it is not how I
envisaged, or indeed, how I understood, the project to be grounded. It
shows what I feel is a certain lack of consideration for those people
from business communities who have contributed in the past to improving
the product (in its largest sense, i.e. from OOo times), creating
documentation, bug hunting and triaging, and who probably helped with
the donations to create the foundation in the first place.
I think that both of you should calm down here. Alex, for sure and you
know it, I absolutely do not want you to go and I appreciate the way you
criticize the project, this is people like you we need the more here.
You follow the dev list and you see that we did not agree to each piece
that is said here. We are a young project who learn how to communicate
in a better way (really I didn't think it at first, but it's verified
quite each day, we have to create a whole communication organization
again...)
I need to read it again, but I think that either your point of view ant
the point of view of Michael is understandable/defensible.
But you are not in a world where there is only Michael and you, so there
is a [mi-temps des lieux] (you understand me when I lose my English
fortunately :)
We need more support from companies to be sustainable, this is not a
secret, we are not in the OOo time where a company will pay for what it
wants.
But you know it can't be all the life of a community and what you
pointed is as important as Michael pointed. We need people who give
their time to make QA, support, documentation, etc... all what you have
done for years. Please, Alex, listen to me, we also need people like you
able to say 'enough', it's very important, so please don't go away
(Sophie demanding here :)
Kind regards
Sophie
Any pointers would be useful.
TIA,
Alex
