Examples of public:

+ OIDF is looking for a new ED, a new ED has been hired

+ OIDF is recruiting additional corp board members, a new corp. board member has joined (but not to be disclosed until they are ok with it)

Which is highly disturbing I think, since the community and foundation members are kept out of the cycle completly. By contributing, seeing and participating myself at different open source projects and open standards foundations I must say that others are extremely capable of doing (almost) everything in public and keep the community involved and updated. This includes also organizations probably larger and more complex than OpenID.

I think you underestimate the usefulness of a community contributing and providing assistance also in relation to the one just touched...
