If the carrier has been radically-suppressed but if a low-level carrier is included (minimal carrier required to-be-determined) then it's merely a carrier-suppressed AM (DSB w/carrier) signal and should be detected.
However, is not a boatanchor HAM/SW AM receiver w/o a BFO (or easily modified with one) common? Certainly all modern rigs have them.
