IIRC: The FT-727R was the first Yaesu HT with PL tone encoding card as
an option
I bought one from the estate of an SK before licensed, WW Manufacturing
custom
makes 12 volt N-MH replacement batteries which can use either Yaesu or
WW Manufacturing
chargers, or a 12 volt cigarette lighter adapter...
FT-727R is quite rugged, easy to program & a good back up for mobile
operations..
Only drawback, has only 8 memory slots...!
