HA, that’s a laugh! I was making a joke and had no idea what was going on. Just poking a little fun at the EL-34, which is quite similar to the 6L6, and more expensive. An amusing story and I’m glad you got to the bottom of it. I wish I could be right more often. WL

Hello Wilson, You are correct! I was in error. I had to use the 'breath test' and found a faint 'GC' on the label. I should have known, of course, by the missing pin 1. Pin 1 is present on EL34's since it is connected to Grid 3 (supressor) to allow an external connection. Pin 6 is missing, too, but it is not connected on the EL34 either. Thanks for your input.
