Hello everyone,

It doesn’t glow in the dark but it is big and heavy so I feel it’s OK to
advertise here 😊 I am offering for sale my TenTec Orion 565AT, located in Santa
Fe, NM. The details are in the attached text file. I can send photos if you are
interested.

Thanks for reading and 73, Mike W2IY

Offering for sale my TenTec Orion 565AT with internal antenna tuner.  I am the
second owner.  Selling because downsizing the shack and you know that the
Orion is a BIG radio.  It is in perfect operating condition and looks great
too.  Recently overhauled and has new memory batteries (6 months old) for both
the main backup and the antenna tuner memory. The A9 board electrolytics have
been replaced.  I operate CW exclusively so the rig has never seen any SSB use
and only a few FT8 QSOs, though it was tested during overhaul. I have used it
with a Hercules II amp, the Orion drives it to full power with about 35 watts
output.

It has the 250 Hz CW filter installed as well as the Z10000 preamp board for a
panadaptor (goes out through a SMA female connector I mounted on the rear
panel).  It also has an upgraded power connector (it is well known that the
original plastic power connector was an Orion weak spot).  The upgraded power
connector is a 2-pin MIL-spec circular connector (a thread on the TenTec Orion
groups.io list details this conversion), and of course the mating power cord is
included (other end is terminated in powerpoles).  The only flaw I know about
is that there is a single horizontal line of dark pixels about 1/4" up from the
bottom of the display.  It is barely noticeable and causes no difficulty in
operation. The Tune button is occasionally flaky but exercising it clears it up
(probably needs cleaning).

Asking $750 plus the cost of professional packing and shipping from NM.
Reasonable offers considered. Sale includes the power cord and full
documentation (original manual, QST reviews, and assorted other useful
information, including setting the AGC parameters for contest vs. casual
operating).  Photos available, please ask if you are seriously interested.
Standing by for any questions.
