Hi

My name is Fernando and it's the first time that I write in this list,
I'm a new member of the Debian BOINC Maintainers Team [1] and I hope to
continue working with You as well and closely as the previous Debian
Maintainers dit it.

The progress of BOINC in Debian (and Debian derivatives) has decreased
significantly primarily because there's a transition of the Debian BOINC
Maintainers Team Members [2]. That's the reason that we have an old
version (6.4.5) in the repositories.

In this moment, I'm working with René Mayorga to update the boinc-client
and boinc-manager packages to the current version and I have the
following doubt.

We are taking the lastest version (6.8.9) from "tags" to package it, but
the available version to download for GNU/Linux is 6.6.36.

Why do You prefer offer the 6.6.36 as the Linux available version to
download? The lastest version have any issue working in GNU/Linux?

Thanks in advance for Your help and in case that You need any test or
help from the team, please not hesitate to contact us [3].

Cheers! ;-)

P.S. There's no need to CC because I'm subscribed in the list.
