Dear Boinc,

When i download boinc for the mac (6.10.21) it is a folder with several items
in it other than the actual installer. "extras" as a folder contains COPYING,
COPYING.LESSER, COPYRIGHT, and the uninstall boinc application. When you click
on the item COPYING.LESSER it won't open because the OS apparently thinks the
.lesser is a file extension. I could only read it in OS 10.6.2 after renaming
it copying2.txt and ignoring the OS's warning window that came up
(paraphrasing: are you sure you want to give it a different file extension?).

Even if it is true that my specific Uninterruptible Power Supply situation
could not be supported through boinc (which may very well be true due to
Belkin's proprietary bloatware), I still think that there are a lot of people
who run boinc who want at least basic UPS support on the mac via the built-in
API. My power goes out relatively frequently where I live in rural CA, and
most of the time it is for a very short period of time. It would be nice if
boinc waited about five seconds after the computer is detected as being on
battery power until it actually suspends tasks. This would be to prevent
flickering power outages from unnecessarily quitting all tasks. There have
been many situations where the power dies for two or three seconds, or just
dips Enron-brownout style for a couple of seconds before becoming stable again.

The other improvement that I want in Boinc manager (all platforms) is the
option to have a RAM column in the Tasks tab of the advanced view. It would
only be applicable to active tasks. rose...@home had some trouble a while ago
with tasks using excessively large amounts of ram. In order to find out this
information you have to go into OSX's activity monitor and look at the task's
Real Mem. Screenshot here:
