Hello to you all. I've read this thread, and I feel a compulsory need for posting.
I joined Seti there on 1999. I liked the idea of being useful for science. I still think so. I like science, specially astronomy. But during all these years I review my statistics very often while I lurk (once every many months) among project's pages to see what science has achieved. I know, for sure, that most of human race doesn't care about science. They like technology, but not science. The same goes for BOINC users. So don't be surprised if project administrators don't send messages to their users about science progress. That one who thought about credits is the one who really gave users a reason to participate. Such a great, great idea. If anyone can suggest other "big motivation" for users, please tell it. Only science is not enough. Anyhow, I will continue reading about my credits and, if scientists offer it, also about project's progress.
