Usually it is because some library that is being linked to the
executable has a different version of the C Runtime Library included in
its manifest.

Anyone encountered such error?
I did search - for another apps it means .NET 2 not installed, but
tester reported that .NET was installed and updated (anyway I don't see
why .NET could be needed in this particular case). App working OK on
another hosts, but on this particular host app had no chance to write
anything to stderr...
