I believe that both GPL and LGPL disallow any charge for the software in
excess of the cost of the media and distribution, but you may charge for
ancillary services such as support.

BOINC is distributed under the LGPL license. LGPL != GPL.
Neither license prohibits selling anything AFAIK.
