If you're able to work on any of this, would it be possible to integrate the
Moderation system with the Personal Message system (which came after it)?

Not thinking of the major issues that Pappa has in mind, but simple things
like 'post move' and 'thread move'. For recently-joined users, PMs are
probably second nature, and they won't necessarily think to look in email
when a post disappears. An 'Inbox' alert *on the page they're looking at* is
much more natural, and saves the mod a job when shepherding newbies.
