The 6.14 BOINC client will use scheduling and work-fetch policies fairly different from those in 6.12. You can use the BOINC Client Emulator to predict how these policies will perform in a particular scenario (host + set of projects). See: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/sim_web.php
You can also simulate the 6.12 policies and do A vs. B comparisons. I've also added the ability to add comments to a simulation (yours or someone else's).
