We just had a silly situation in which our uploads were failing because the file upload handler couldn't write to its log file (my configuration error).
The upshot was that the upload handler could not tell us what was wrong, but was sending a message to the clients, telling them what was wrong. Eventually we got notification of the cause of the problem from our volunteers. Would there have been any other way for me to have found the error message?
