Hello, i'm moving this to boinc_projects as it is a project setup question.
First place to look after is the server log files and also increasing the debug level of the daemons in your config.xml file. There should be no other project attached to the client as this can also hindering the work-fetch. Standalone mode is to check if your application will function with all files needed already present. So before you run uppercase.exe on your own you must copy any input files or libraries as the BOINC client would do.
