Hi! I guess the answer depends on what else you are doing with the hosts.
One solution could be BOINC installed to a USB or otherwise portable disk and use it at different hosts. I'm not sure what limitations exist for doing this under Windows (registry entries???) but for Linux it should work. If the hosts are doing nothing else but BOINC, Dotsch/UX [1] is offering an easy solution to run BOINC and the whole Linux OS around it from a USB stick. When it's time to communicate results and download new tasks, you would physically move the stick to a different host that has Internet connectivity. I'm not sure how well Dostch runs inside a VM (obvious problems with GPU apps...), maybe that would be an option if you need to have Windows on the host and run different stuff other than BOINC there as well. Maybe even a native installation to a USB drive under Windows would work. There are several people that have tried, but they all give up after a week or two. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [ mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Admin Team "St.Petersburg" Sent: Sunday, January 13, 2013 2:40 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [boinc_dev] Transferring jobs. Hi. Maybe who will prompt? How it is possible to transfer tasks from my computer to another? On other there is no Internet. I want to carry there tasks for Boinc. It is desirable to tell more precisely. I thank. Andrey. -- Желаем Вам всем не болеть и не тужить. Всего хорошего. Администрация команды.
