Formatting of news items is limited by the way we translate BBCode to HTML. This is in the function bb2html() in html/inc/text_transform.inc If anyone wants to extend this to allow more flexible formatting, patches are welcome.

Hi there, I'm not sure, if it's already possible but at least I don't know how and the people of 2 other projects also don't know an answer. I would like to have the option to "layout" a forum posting in a decent way, because in cases of news, that are presented on the index page it doesn't look bad when I only can place images inside and the text has to be splitted. I want to place the image and the text should flow around. It will make reading news on the front page much easier. The next question is if I can make the news post be long but only place the first paragraph of it on the index page? Sometimes a longer news has to be published but it re-arranges the index page. If it's already implemented please give me a hint where to find that option :). And lastly, I would like to add youtube (vimeo, you name it) embedded videos like images (including layout of course) in forum posts. Could you please implement a tag for that? I'm missing those features and would love to have them.
