I suppose he just wanted to see why something was changed, not just what
(which is apparent from the diff anyway). So, an additional statement
that, for instance, references the link you just gave would have been
useful. Others could learn from it and the commit message would describe
the motivation/reasoning behind the commit.

And yes, I obviously second Toralf's opinion/request.
