Hi, Has anyone yet considered getting BOINC to run on Valve's upcoming hardware and operating system? Is anyone participating in the beta program?
http://store.steampowered.com/livingroom/SteamMachines http://store.steampowered.com/livingroom/SteamOS Both look really interesting, considering the (actual!) openness and hardware specs. These products could be easy to support as they're based on Linux with a free and open source OS, tailored for the hardware. If priced competitively they could be a real game changer compared to Microsoft and Sony, in particular for us, the volunteer computing community trying to tap into the potential compute power of gaming consoles. Thoughts?
