All these three use cases sound reasonable and indeed very useful to me. We could start out adding the RPC which should be easy to do. That'll already fulfill 2/3 of the use cases with minimal effort. The gold-plated solution (in a positive sense) would of course be the BOINC Manager integration outlined above :-) Nice ideas!
