Hi,

Here is my first attempt to package the BOINC server for CentOS 7.

http://cern.ch/lfield/boinc-server-0.0.0-0.el7.cern.x86_64.rpm

The main issue is the filesystem layout should follow the Filesystem Hierarchy Standard <http://www.pathname.com/fhs/>. At the moment many commands fail as there are hard-coded assumptions regarding where files are located. These can obviously be fixed but we probably need to come to some common understanding before those are made. I have just opened issue #2069 <https://github.com/BOINC/boinc/issues/2069> where this discussion can take place.

Anyone who is potentially interested in the CentOS 7 release (via EPEL) should contact me and take a look at the package. Someone should also try the same exercise for Debian and we should synchronize on the locations and changes required. A far as I am aware, we do not need to target any other Linux distributions but support the FHS should help those too.

Regards,

Laurence

Note: Here are the Fedora Packaging Guidelines <https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:Guidelines>.
