I think the advice by Laurence needs to be changed: --- Quoted message --- Laurence Field, Linux release manager for BOINC wrote:
The BOINC client v7.8.3 is available for testing on Linux For Debian/Ubuntu sudo apt-add-repository ppa:costamagnagianfranco/boinc sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install boinc-manager For Fedora/RedHat/CentOS sudo dnf config-manager --set-enable updates-testing sudo dnf install boinc-manager Test reports can be sent to the alpha testing project and bugs can be reported to the Fedora or Debian bug trackers respectively. --- End quoted message --- Surely Debian users should get it from the Debian repo than trying to add a ppa? Both stretch-backports and jessie-backports-sloppy have BOINC 7.8.3 available for multiple architectures. They might want boinc-client as well as the manager too. Raspbian users (its based upon Debian) would also want to use the backports repos if they wanted to test on a Pi2 or Pi3. If they have a different model Pi then they're out of luck because Debian has a minimum of ARMv7 support. _______________________________________________ boinc_dev mailing list boinc_dev@ssl.berkeley.edu https://lists.ssl.berkeley.edu/mailman/listinfo/boinc_dev To unsubscribe, visit the above URL and (near bottom of page) enter your email address.
