Greetings,

I've finished putting together a proof of concept for a integration test
framework for testing the BOINC server. I'd like it if a few people could
take a look and let me know if they think it is useful and could be
extended by the community as needed. The goal would be to make this part
of the tests that are started by github when a new pull request is created
in order to validate that the system works as expected. More information
and instructions to run the tests are available here:
https://github.com/TheAspens/boinc-server-test I've tested it on Cent OS 7
and Ubuntu 16.04.

The goal is not to build a set of tests up front but rather add tests as
needed to help ensure that the server code is stable and working as
expected as we make changes to it. This would complement the work proposed
by Vitalii back in Nov to use the google test project (
https://lists.ssl.berkeley.edu/pipermail/boinc_dev/2017-November/023055.html
) to do unit level testing.

Please give this a try and let me know what people think. This would be
contributed to BOINC and be set up as a repository under
https://github.com/BOINC if we move forward with this.

Thanks,

Kevin
